BLACK ICE PROTECTION DETAIL

"Black Ice" is our basic detailing package, it is designed to clean and protect exterior surfaces of your vehicle without the added cost of paint correction. This detail will attain a level of finish that a valet will not achieve.

The process involves the application of "Black Ice" from The Last Coat, a ceramic coating giving 12 months + of protection along with a high degree of gloss, shine and reflection, it is an extremely durable, and hydrophobic base layer. With correct treatment and maintenance the protection it provides can last up to 18 months. We will give you maintenance and aftercare advice when you collect your vehicle.

• Wheel arches flushed, door shuts cleaned
• Extensive wash process using a pre-wash treatment, snowfoam and the two bucket system with a pH neutral shampoo
• Tar deposits and iron contaminants chemically treated
• Remaining surface contaminants removed with a claybar; leaving a slick, glass-like finish
• Vehicle rinsed and dried with ultra soft microfibre drying towels
• Blown dry to remove trapped water and eliminate drips in readiness for polishing
• A finishing hand polish and cleanse to all exterior surfaces

NEW CAR DETAIL

You've just bought a brand new car, your pride and joy, you expected it to be delivered and presented with care, showing flawless paintwork, perfect in every way. Sadly this is very often not the case. Poor storage conditions, mishaps during transport and poor preparation at the Dealership can cause a myriad of problems and paint defects. Fine scratches, machine holograms and marring, sanding marks, surface contamination, even "fish eyes" in the lacquer are just a few of the issues you may encounter.

You are very likely to be offered a paint protection package by the dealer, often along with some big claims and over promises on the benefits and level of protection, but in reality they are very often poor value for money. Paintwork is generally prepared poorly and products often applied incorrectly by valet teams given insufficient time to carry out the work to any sort of decent standard, probably a couple of hours, and sometimes with minimal training.

Our New Car Detail will usually take 1 to 2 days, and using equipment, materials and coatings from industry leading companies will protect your new pride and joy for months to come. Paintwork will have added UV resistance and hydrophobicity, resulting in surfaces that are easier to clean and maintain with better resistance to swirling, thanks to superb quality nano quartz coatings. We can enhance and protect the appearance of your vehicle even further if you go for any of the treatments in our extras pack.

We advise that you ask the dealership not to touch your car prior to collection, No Wash, No Polish. This will reduce the possibility of more costly paint correction being required, fine scratches and swirls could easily be caused by bad contact during the dealers valeting process.

MINOR PAINT CORRECTION

This detail is for vehicles with light swirls and scratches, and that suffer from oxidation and dull and hazy paintwork that have been damaged over the years by poor wash technique, bad contact and strong chemicals. This involves a two stage machine polish to correct the problem areas.

The first machine polishing stage is a medium/strong cut compound used in conjunction with a polishing/cutting pad that restores the paint and removes up to 80% of the surface defects. The second stage is a much milder pass to refine the finish and give a glossy appearance.

This service is our most popular package, ideal for the enthusiast who likes to keep a defect free car all year round. Paint thickness removal is kept to a minimum during this detail allowing the process to be performed on an annual basis if required.  As previously mentioned though, all paintwork is checked with a paint thickness gauge prior to commencement to ensure there will be no problems with the detailing process.

MAJOR PAINT CORRECTION

The purpose of this detail is to deliver paintwork perfection, often leaving the finish better than its original showroom condition.

Using a multitude of machine passes to safely remove heavier defects found on most vehicles, i.e. scratches, bird etchings, machine buffer trails and sanding marks, perfect for the tired, lifeless car that requires a second lease of life.

Sometimes 100% correction isn’t always possible, compromises have to be made on areas with thin clear coat where it would be impractical to sacrifice lacquer and to run the risk of striking through to the paint. Also, as a general rule, scratches that you can feel with your fingernail are already through to the paint, and cannot be removed by machine polishing, however they can be visibly reduced by rounding off the edges with correct machine technique.

Typically, over 95% correction will be achieved with a Major Paint Correction Detail and is guaranteed to transform your vehicle.
